The true fisherman understand the phrase “Come To where the catcher’s catch”! The casual fisherman needs to learn the above from the true fisherman. What does it mean? It means that the experienced fisherman will not be satisfied with just ordinary fishing; i.e. to go fishing just to be able to tell your friends that you have gone fishing. It also means that the true fisherman expects to return from a day’s fishing exhausted but at the same time satisfied with the day’s catch. To achieve the goals of every true fisherman, what should the above encompass?

Go with the best; a captain that is U.S. Coast Guard Certified with 20+ years experience is a good measure for success. The fact that after many years of successful fishing where the fisherman has finished the day with a big smile on his face has contributed to referrals and recommendations.

How hard does the captain work for you? When the 1st or 2nd fishing area comes up sparse, is he willing to go to a 3rd, 4th or even 5th are in search of a better catch. When this happens, you know that the captain is working hard for you.

When you ask a serious question, does he come back with a serious answer; an answer that shows his respect, knowledge, experience and insight.

Is his mate(s) helpful, professional and considerate? Does the mate coordinate well with the instructions of the captain? Is the mate able to boat the fish? After an intense fight, the last thing you need to happen is to lose the fish as it is along side the boat. Ask the mate how long he has been with the captain. A long standing relationship indicates a mutual respect.

Do you sense that the captain is willing to build a long term relationship with you? A captain’s livelihood depends on your referral and recommendation.

Finally, are you a considerate, respectful client? Or are you a web surfer looking for something to occupy your time? Or are you a bottom fisher looking for the cheapest price? In Costa Rica the bottom fisher can find that also; a boat with an inexperienced captain, mate, without proper sounding equipment, radio communication, life vests, food and beverage that you might come to expect. At http://www.costaricafishing.co.uk/, http://www.costaricasportfishing.net/, and http://www.costaricadeepseafishing.net/ We strive to provide you with the fishing experience of a lifetime. You are our most valued asset.
